A Four-Line Friday Note That Makes You Visible From Home

When you work from home, silence gets read as absence. The person who is also getting dinner on the table disappears first, because they are not performing busyness in a chat channel. A short Friday note fixes that without asking you to be online at night.

Keep it in the same place every week:

1. What shipped or got unblocked.
2. What you can now do again without help.
3. What you are still slow at.
4. One ask: a review, a shadowing session, or a decision you need.

Review season then takes an hour, not a reconstruction of six months from memory. Once a month, turn one line into a resume sentence. "Unblocked the billing export and added a check so last month's numbers cannot ship again" is a line. "Continued to grow" is not. That sentence belongs in the ATS resume guide when you are ready to look.

What to practice, and what to skip

Pick one skill the job already uses this month: a clearer customer reply, the check that would have caught last month's spreadsheet error, the constraint at the top of a design critique. Practice it on real work. A course you do not finish does not show up in the note.
